I have known Jen for about 6 years now. She is pretty and seems to be calm and kind of a shy girl at first sight, but guess what, she is a comedian/actress/writer/uke player, multi-talented super woman! (Check her out on JEN’S WEBSITE) The photo shoot was at Brooklyn Botanical Garden with beautiful spring flowers and trees. Cherry blossoms were blooming and a lot of people were there to see them. I met Tom for the first time on the day of the photo shoot. He seems to be kind of a shy gentleman, too, at first sight, but what shocked me the most was he is as brave (I don’t know if this is the right word…) as Jen in front of the camera! I was like “Tom, really? You, too?” Anyway, the photo shoot was really fun. I can’t imagine how fun their wedding will be! Congratulations, Jen and Tom!

Yoshiko and Mitsuru contacted me for their honeymoon photos in NYC. We got some nice photos and you can see them here. Yes, they had honeymoon before their wedding. They were very sweet people and I really enjoyed working for them. When I was in Japan for other gigs, they contacted me asking, “do you know any wedding photographer in Japan?” and I said, “me, me!” The wedding was at The Strings Hotel which is on higher floors of a building in Shinagawa, Tokyo, and has great views all around. The couple looked so cute together. Congratulations, Yoshiko and Mitsuru!!

I did an engagement photo session with this nice young couple, Lisa and Will, at Highline Park, NYC. Lisa is a lighting creator for museums and Will is a doctor. We met at Highline park in the afternoon and shot the photos as we walk. Highline has various nice spots for photos, some colored trees, NYC street views, nice benches, etc. We moved to the Hudson River area to take some shots at the waterside. They were easy-going nice couple and we enjoyed the photo shoot. Congratulations, Lisa and Will!!

Sara and Matt is finally married! I did their engagement photos in the last May. Since she told me she is getting married, I’ve been looking forward to photographing their wedding! The ceremony was in a beautiful St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Long Island. They used orange and yellow flowers to decorate the church and they looked great with Sara and Matt. The reception was at Smithtown Landing which was about 8 minutes from the church. The location was nice, the food was delicious and we had a lot of fun there. Congratulations, Sara and Matt!!

Jodi contacted me at the beginning of August for an engagement photo shoot. Everytime we scheduled a photo shoot, the weather forecast was “rain”. After 5 or 6 times of re-scheduling, we finally did a photo shoot! It’s already November… And the day we picked for a Central Park engagement was the big NYC marathon day… Inside the park, although there were so many runners and their family and friends all over, the autumn leaves were beautiful. We had some difficulty walking on the street because a lot of streets were blocked, but overall it was a good photo shoot. Congratulations, Jodi and Jared!!

Snowy October Wedding! Penny and Anthony got married at Renaissance Hotel on E.57th Street, NYC. It is a nice hotel with a nice restaurant, Opia. Their ceremony was multi-cultural and had some Jewish and Filipino styles. It was beautiful intimate ceremony. The reception dinner was by the restaurant, Opia. The groom and bride was kissing all the time and seemed so happy. When I was editing the images, there were photos of them kissing one after another! Congratulations, Penny and Anthony!

Yoshiko and Mitsuru came from Japan to NYC for their honeymoon. They were my second Japanese-Japanese couple! They also both happened to be the same age as I am (not gonna mention how old). They had some difficulties as soon as they got to NYC… They ordered the bouquet when they were in Japan and also reserved a time for a pick up. They got to the florist and the florist started making the bouquet when they got there… So they ended up waiting for 90 minutes at the florist (and the price was outrageous). OK, honestly this kind of things happen daily in NYC, but New Yorkers, please at least do not disappoint tourists who come all the way from around the world to NYC!! And you can’t blame anybody for this, but we had a limo, and the traffic was terrible…. Oh well… Anyway, we started the photo shoot at Grand Central and moved to 5th avenue, and finished in the Central Park. Despite the not-so-good experiences in NYC, they were so sweet couple and I am sure they had good time here (and also the heavy snow on the next day)! Congratulations, Yoshiko and Mitsuru!!

Lucy and Justin had a wedding ceremony at Church of St. Francis Xavier on West 16th street. The reception was at Morningside Castle. Both locations were perfect for their lovely wedding. The weather was nice, temperature was just right, nice people, and it was a beautiful wedding. Congratulations Lucy and Justin!!

I met Laura and Luis through our mutual friend, Sara. I photographed Laura and Luis’s engagement almost a year ago. I started out shooting Laura’s getting ready at lank”>Holiday Inn Long Island City. The hotel had a very beautiful view from their room. We moved to the ceremony location, St. Mary’s RC Church, Long Island City. The church was very nice and ceremony went beautifully. The reception was in Connecticut, where Laura’s parents live. The location was by the water and so pretty. The couple looked great together in the sunset. People were dancing and enjoying the evening very much. Congratulations, Laura and Luis!
